This will explain how to connect to internet from Fedora 15 using Sierra wireless 885U modem and INDOSAT M2.

1. Open gnome-terminal in Gnome 3 shell, press ALT + F2, type gnome-terminal and press ENTER

2. Connect Sierra 885U to Fedora 15, and run lsusb and dmesg command in gnome-terminal

3. From lsusb and dmesg output, you can see Sierra 885U hardware already detect by Fedora 15. Now from gnome-terminal type nm-connection-editor, input your root password and press ENTER

click Mobile Broadband tab, then click Add

from Set up a Mobile Broadband Connection choose Sierra Wireless HSPA Modem and click Forward

from Choose your Provider’s Country or Region, select Indonesia and click Forward

next step, here I select Indosat

next Choose your Billing Plan, in Select your plan I choose My plan is not listed…
in Selected plan APN (Access Point Name), fill with INDOSATM2 and click Forward

Next step click Apply to save your configuration

Confirm Mobile Broadband Settings

After you click Apply, another window will pop up on your screen for editing your broadband connection. On Mobile Broadband tab fill with this information (your username and password for your IM2 account):

If you want force this connection to use 3G, select 3G (UMTS/HSPA) as a Type.

click PPP Settings, here I just choose PAP as Authentication methods

for IPv4 Settings tab, select Automatic (PPP) than click Save to save your broadband mobile configuration

Now your mobile broadband connection will appear in Network Connection, click Close

Now, your broadband connection name will appear on Network Manager, click Network Manager icon in the top of your screen and change Mobile Broadband status from OFF to ON.

Wait a few second until your Mobile Broadband status change to ON and your mobile broadband profile connected.

To make sure your connection, go to your gnome-terminal and typed ifconfig command

You can see here interface ppp0 already UP and get IP Adress.
Now run ping command from gnome-terminal

Now you can browsing to internet using INDOSATM2 Mobile broadband connection :)
